About James Gang Pictures
Drew James is a director, editor, and post-production specialist based in Los Angeles, and the co-founder of James Gang Pictures.
His post career spans network television and studio features. At Digital Film Tree he handled finishing for series including NCIS: Los Angeles (CBS) and Home Economics (ABC), coordinated dailies on The Resort (NBC) and Shrinking (Apple), and built Unreal Engine previs for shows like Ted Lasso and Winning Time. Before that, as co-producer and post supervisor at Kylin Pictures, he worked on features including Hacksaw Ridge, American Made, Birth of the Dragon, and The King's Daughter, running production and post across four continents. He got his start cutting nightly highlights at Fox Sports.
Through James Gang Pictures, he directs and edits branded and music content for clients including Xbox, Apple Music, and Warner Bros., and directed an NPR Tiny Desk Concert with singer-songwriter Raye Zaragoza. He works across Adobe Creative Suite, Resolve, Avid, and Quantel, and composites in Nuke, Fusion, and After Effects.
He's also been on the other side of the camera, with roles in In Time, Future Man, and True Blood, and has written, directed, and produced his own short films. He has roots in Indiana and Tennessee, but has called Los Angeles home for nearly two decades. Off the clock, you'll find him on the basketball court, with his rescue pup Joey, or in a seat at the New Beverly.
